Do you have a revolutionary idea in mind? Great ! So now what should you do? That is the question. The real challenge of an entrepreneur is just beginning at that time. You can then succeed as an entrepreneur, but it will not be easy. It has never been easy to start and run a successful business …
However, if you do not pursue your dreams, you will never know if they have a chance to materialize and succeed. Dreams are all we have, take them seriously. The bitter truth, however, is that most entrepreneurs fail to start their businesses properly, and I am no longer talking about the failures accumulated along the way. If you ask a large entrepreneur what to do, he or she will most likely mention one of these signs.
1. You can materialize all your ideas
Labor is everything to the success of a startup. You can have the best idea in the world and even the big money to make it happen, if you can’t get it right, you won’t succeed. It’s as simple as that. Having a good idea is therefore not enough. You may have the brightest idea, if not executed well, your business will sink quickly.
You don’t need an original idea to be successful. Looking for a soul mate, for example, is nothing new. But the Tinder app has changed the way you help people get there by offering better online dating. And Google has also improved the way it searches for information on the web brilliantly, when it was not the first search engine.
There are probably hundreds of people who may have the same idea as you, but they certainly failed to execute it. If you have what it takes to have a stable business, you will go far in your entrepreneurial journey. Ideas don’t count, it’s their realization that counts.
2. You really care about what you do or what you want to do
If you don’t care enough about the product or service you want to offer, don’t even think about marketing it. Creating a startup is not a sprint, it is a marathon. You will not be able to start a business that can last if it does not mean more than money for you.
Every entrepreneur needs this intense feeling of conviction to see their idea come to fruition once the “idea phase” has passed. Performing the various tasks during the start-up phase requires a lot of persistence. Unfortunately, most startups fail at this point. So you must like to overcome all obstacles, as hard as they are.
If you are not passionate about what you are doing, you can also give up now by seeing your startup that is not taking off as it should. So remember, solving a problem you care about is a great way to start a business.
3. You are able to face life and business failures
“If you’re not ready to fail, you’re never going to get something original.” – Ken Robinson
Successful entrepreneurs know how to get more from their failures. Failure is not a sign of permanent trouble, but simply a step that leads to the path to success. All great entrepreneurs know this, and they have the strength to face any challenge.
Do you know Richard Branson’s journey? You will be surprised by the number of companies he has founded in the past. You probably know his most popular companies, but that goes further. You will discover through their stories the long way he has come. It gives you an idea of this man’s persistence and what it took to become as we know him today.
4. You are a passionate learner… for life
“Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” – Jim Rohn
Most successful entrepreneurs spend a lot of time working on their personal development, but there are no rules for succeeding at this level. What works for Google, for example, may not necessarily work for Yahoo. Large entrepreneurs are constantly learning how their businesses can adapt to the various changes, those of today and tomorrow. The process of exploring, understanding and even mastering different subjects prepares entrepreneurs for emerging opportunities and helps them make the best decisions for the success of their business.
For example, Warren Buffett spends 80 to 90% of his days reading hundreds of pages to gain knowledge and be the best at what he does. Its information industry is growing. He never went to university, yet he is one of the best in his field.
As you can see, never stop learning and keep asking yourself critical questions. This is the only way to stay relevant to your customers, today and tomorrow. Entrepreneurs are passionate and lifelong learners!
5. You know how to manage risk
“An entrepreneur tends to bite a little more than he can chew in the hope that he will learn to chew quickly” – Roy Ash
Are you really ready to lose the job of your life? One of the biggest risks that most entrepreneurs take is to decide to quit their job to pursue the career of their dream. When that happens, can you make the decision to focus on the only thing that matters to you? Most people fail because the uncertainties can be devastating.
Entrepreneurs work very hard to limit risk, but they take even more risk every day to succeed. If you know how to minimize your own and can still make crucial decisions in your life and in business, then you will succeed as a True Entrepreneur.
