Updates from Google are still awaited with more or less apprehension by SEOs. Matts Cutts and the Webmaster Central Blog announced yesterday that a new generation of algorithms will be released soon. Before it goes online, the algorithm is in the testing phase and Google provides a URL so that everyone can test and give feedback to the engine …

Update Cafeine…
The engine decided to name this new update “Cafeine” … Why? Simply because it is supposed to boost engine performance: crawl and indexing of a larger number of pages, increase the relevance of the results and display them faster.

The engine takes advantage, as almost every year, of summer to make major changes. Here, the algorithm infrastructure has been improved. Some will see position changes and others will not. For my part, the results seem to be increasing for the sites of my employer, on the other hand for the blog, I have not seen any obvious development.

To test on the Google sandbox…
If you too want to test this new Google, go to the Google sandbox here: http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ The engine makes this URL available to obtain feedback from its users before this new algorithm goes online.

There is no announcement date yet, it will surely depend on feedback … If you want to send your comments to Google, just do a search via the sandbox and click on the link ” Not satisfied ? Help us improve this service ”!

Evolution of positions and SEO techniques…
What will be interesting is to compare the evolution of engine positions and traffic, before and after the Cafeine update. This may be the subject of a post here 🙂 Finally, who says new algorithm, says developments in the ways of optimizing a site for SEO. Some SEO techniques will become more effective and vice versa for others … So follow these loans in the coming months.
