New tools such as Squarespace or Wix allow you to quickly mount pages or websites without technical knowledge. What quickly create a presentation or sales page without special programming knowledge …
Faced with this competition, WordPress (which today
still turn 33% of websites), do not sit idly by.
What solutions are proposed to carry out
easily his project and his marketing actions on WordPress?
We take stock here.
First, a (very small) bit of context.
What is a CMS?
A CMS (for Content Management System) is a bit like a
software to install so that you can easily manage content on a
website. It makes it easier for the developer and the webmaster of an application
internet, saving them from having to code everything by hand.
In short, a CMS offers an interface. There are CMS for all areas, more or less specialized (intranet sites, storefront sites, shops, blogs, etc.); others are generalists and can do a little bit of everything. WordPress is simply the best known and most widely used CMS in the world.
To function properly, a CMS needs a theme, which will define the appearance of the site, and multiple plug-ins, which will allow to add new functionalities.
For example, Woocommerce is a plug-in allowing to add
the “online store” functionality at its WordPress site.
Do you always follow me ?
So let’s continue:
CMS improves from version to version, offering
always more options, better interfaces and optimizations for
better manage its natural referencing, but a bottom wave breaks
currently in the software ecosystem.
The name of this tidal wave? Site builders!
What is a site builder?
It’s a different philosophy and interface, for
build a page or a site more simply than with a CMS.
We have been living for some time now what I call
a “small technological revolution”.
What page builders offer is a more
simple, without technical barrier.
Normally, creating a WordPress site requires a minimum
knowledge of HTML, CSS and even PHP, for those who want to make
profound changes in a theme.
This is not the case with a site builder.
So, in concrete terms, how does it work?
You can create your page in real time without (almost) any bad
surprise between what you build as you go along and the end result.
All by “drag and drop”, as in the example below.
The icing on the cake: copy and paste of text or style and cancellation (the good old Ctrl + Z) are taken into account!
The advantage of this interface is therefore that it makes it possible
creating a page or even an entire website without knowing the languages
I would even go further: no need to have notions of
design thanks to the many templates of a page builder like Elementor!
The user can then focus on what’s important: content and the primary objective of his site.
Regarding primary objective, if this is the sale of
products or services (dear marketers, I don’t forget you), know
that Elementor is compatible with Woocommerce, the tool that allows you to mount a
online store with WordPress.
Better still: even without going to the online store,
Elementor can help you with the implementation of your marketing strategy
from a functional point of view.
Finally we come …
What are Elementor’s tools to drive your marketing?
Create a landing page on the fly
First, the ability to create a blank page,
that is to say outside of its WordPress theme, fully customizable.
It may sound silly, but it’s not that easy to
do with a classic theme. Designers will appreciate the possibility of
not display their site menu on a landing page.
Indeed, a sales page = a goal. So eliminating your main menu and site footer is a very good idea to avoid distractions and allow the visitor to focus on your “call to action” (the nice red button on your business page).
In addition to making this step particularly simple,
Elementor offers many professional models, optimized and fast to
import. I am sure you will find your happiness there, as the themes are
Connect your auto-responder
In its professional version, Elementor offers
connect your contact form to your email service such as Mailchimp
Can’t find your software in the list? Not
panic: you can also easily link the form with
Zapier, a great online service that easily connects a number
countless of services between them. In short, the possibilities are very numerous
and I am sure you will find your happiness!
The pop-up tool
What would a contact form be without its pop-up?
The addition was made recently, of course, but the function is
very powerful and you will find with Elementor, there too, good examples of
There are different types (classic, full screen, hello
bar, slide-in or even fly-in) and different sizes (full screen,
paving stone, banner, etc.).
What is quite impressive are the possibilities of
very precise triggering that can be programmed, always from Elementor.
And again, I could have changed many more parameters!
(tags synchronized with my auto-responder, a personalized UTM, avoid them
connected users, etc.)
Not bad is not it ? Otherwise, more classic: you can
also trigger a pop-up on each page of the site when the visitor is getting ready
get out. It’s a bit of a faint hope pop-up.
Honestly, I’ve rarely seen so many opportunities to
trigger even on plug-ins specialized in pop-ups!
Why should I use Elementor for my marketing?
We saw it, the possibilities of Elementor are
many. So, short summary: why is it really a “plus”
to include it in my WordPress site for my marketing?
You can create landing pages outside of your
WordPress theme, quickly, and without technical knowledge.
With its pro version, you can link Elementor to your emailing services with customizable forms.
To improve your knowledge of Elementor (and see if it is really made for you), I suggest you read this full article, which will present Elementor and its Pro version in more detail.
Is it really for everyone?
Ah! Let’s be a little critical all the same:
some people don’t like having just one tool and prefer to use
plug-ins specialized in a particular field. Far be it from me to judge:
I have often worked like this. In fact, it’s a more philosophical question
If you’re not too comfortable with the idea of driving it all
within the same interface, you don’t want another interface than
WordPress, or if you already use other tools than you want
not give up (for example, an email address capture tool), so maybe
that Elementor is not for you.
Ah… small important detail: what is the price
In a single-site version, a license will cost you 49 dollars
for a year of updates. Rather reasonable in my opinion, when we think of
everything you can do beautiful with!
And you, did you succumb to Elementor? Or another page builder?
I would be happy to have your feedback in
