1. Leave your office

When you sit in the same place every day, you can quickly get bored. So, reorganize your office or do something you can do outside – like at the local coffee shop or library – and work remotely for a few hours. Take advantage of your surroundings and breathe deeply. Use all of your senses: taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing.

2. Clean up your workspace

Nothing will pull you down more than a messy, disorganized or dirty workspace. Spend some time and effort cleaning, organizing, and why not (re) decorating your workspace. You will spend most of your time there, so make it a nice place. And all the means are good to get there: recruit an organizational expert to help you design a practical filing system, hang photos that remind you of your favorite activities after work, perfume your desk with fresh flowers or candles, etc.

3. Review or reset your goals

If you’ve been doing the same thing over and over and over and over again for (very) long time, it may be time to reset your goals. Take the time to work “on” the business, set monthly or yearly goals. Brainstorm all the ideas that come to your mind, write down everything you plan to do for the sustainability of the business as well as your personal development. Also make a table with small pictures that motivate you, for example, then gradually organize everything you have noted. It’s easy to lose sight of your main goals when you’re overwhelmed, so think about it.

4. Make a list of your priorities

Make a list of what you need to do daily or weekly and never lose sight of it. Each time you complete a task, write it down. You will see that it is really encouraging to know that you are moving forward, well. Also write down all the things you want or need to accomplish every day and challenge yourself to get there from the start. Set a daily goal for the number of tasks to be performed, the hours recorded or the euros earned. In short, set priorities for yourself.

5. Just start!

The hardest part of any job is to get started, stupidly. But it is not always easy! So choose a task that inspires you, that you like, and get started! Once you get started, you will probably get a taste for it, but never get overwhelmed. Concentrate and stay well organized. It’s the best way to finish what you started. Then, when you have finished a task, put your desk in order to create a pleasant workspace for the next mission. Try to keep your workspace and your mind very clear.

6. Set deadlines

Things happen more easily when you set a deadline. See if you can do it for each of your tasks, be it in your planning, invoicing, or delivery times for your customers for example. And then, when you finish before the deadline, why not celebrate it a little? Nothing better than a small reward for having fishing!

7. Take a break

Running a business can be both morally and physically tiring, so be gentle with yourself and take a well-deserved break from time to time. Your body and mind are sometimes in great need. To do this, do something completely different from your work and rediscover the joys of life. Also let your body breathe by doing a little sport. Try to stretch for at least 10-20 minutes a day for example, it’s already a great start.
