Looks like the big brands got TikTok fever too. After mobile applications have taken turns creating a platform to create short videos, Lego is also launching!
Lego Vidiyo, an application to create short videos
The Lego Group and Universal Music Group (UMG) have teamed up to launch Lego Vidiyo, a TikTok-like short video maker app for kids ages 7-10. Children can direct, produce, perform and share their own music videos on songs from the UMG catalog.
Lego Vidiyo lets kids use an app with Lego “BeatBit” figures and pieces to create 60 second video clips that can be cut into smaller, shareable clips.
This mobile application allows children to “bring to life” the figurines thanks to augmented reality and scan the BeatBits to unlock digital effects.
A fun and creative application suitable for children
The branding app could be a way for Lego and UMG to tap into the trend of video creation apps like TikTok, but in a safe and kid-friendly environment. The app requires parental consent and uses anonymity and moderation of external content to ensure the safety of children.
To further gamify the experience and keep kids engaged, Lego will regularly add new music, challenges and “inspirational” content.
For the company, “Lego Vidiyo is a great way for millions of children to discover new music and connect with their favorite artists while learning and connecting through play.”
Lego Vidiyo products will be available March 1 in the United States.
