A new service to develop freelancers
LinkedIn is developing Marketplaces, a new service to allow its 740 million users to find and book freelancers, competing with publicly traded companies like Upwork and Fiverr.
The process includes the development of a digital wallet, which facilitates payments on the platform. But this is not LinkedIn’s first attempt to provide help freelance workers.
The social network already has “ProFinder” which allows you to search for relevant freelancers by subject and connect with them for projects. Users can view their profile for relevant offers by enabling the Showcase Services feature on their LinkedIn profile, which ensures that they will be shown for relevant queries.
Marketplaces offers much more!
Marketplaces really makes it easy to connect and trade on the platform. Businesses can now employ people from anywhere, they are no longer limited by location. And while location is no longer a limit, it is possible to choose from a much larger pool of freelance talent, which may see more companies looking for contract workers for other purposes.
This can boost engagement and add more advertising opportunities, empowering freelancers to pay to promote their services to the market.
