Snapchat has taken a step towards better integration of people with reduced mobility and further diversifying your strategy on social networks with the launch of new Bitmoji wheelchair avatars …
A real step forward at Snapchat!
In the past, Snapchat had been criticized for its lack of accessibility, especially when it came to visually impaired users. This is why the social network has decided to offer a more diverse range of avatars on Bitmoji.
According to him, “Bitmoji’s mission has always been to create avatars that reflect and represent the diversity of our community. And while we recognize that we still have work to do, today we hope to take one more step towards our larger goal of making inclusion a fundamental part of our Bitmoji avatar platform. “
Snapchat says it went to great lengths to ensure the new additions were both accurate and representative. To create this first series, the platform worked closely with its disability rights advisor to work on the details of the manual wheelchair: the arm guard, the footrest, the seat fabric, and how the spokes are positioned.
And Snapchat does not intend to stop there, because it seeks to add more forms of representation in its avatars. It thus launched a call to the community of users to give their opinion, both on these latest additions and the potential novelties to extend its lists.
The new Bitmoji Stickers feature avatars in a manual wheelchair, which Snapchatters and Bitmoji users can now add to their posts. To use them and adapt them to your social media strategy for 2021, it’s very simple!
- Open the Bitmoji app;
- In the search bar, enter “wheelchair”;
- Scroll down to find the Bitmoji wheelchair sticker options.
