1: Arrangements to finance training open to all

Training funding with your Personal Training Account or CPF

Open to all profiles, it is surely the device to finance the best known training, the CPF allows you to accumulate training rights every year.

Since 2019, these rights are expressed in the euro budget (before that, we had training hours), the CPF can only finance certain types of eligible training:

  • Training courses leading to a diploma…
  • … Qualification certifications
    professional (CQF)…
  • … The certifications registered in the directory
    specific to England Compétence…
  • … Or the skills assessment.

Everything that comes out of these 4 categories cannot be
funded with CPF. Vocational training that does not lead to
registered certification therefore cannot be funded.

Each year, you accumulate 500 € of training rights up to 5000 € or 800 € up to 8000 if you are in the “unskilled employees” category.

Good news also for the self-employed and entrepreneurs, since 2018 the latter have contributed to the CPF and have had CPF rights since 2019. Think about it if you are independent !

How do you use your CPF?

Just create an account on the government website moncompteactivite.gouv.fr, with your social security number you will find your rights to training. Attention for the self-employed, the device being recent for them, the credits are not yet displayed, it is necessary to go through its OPCO (Ex OPCA) to benefit from its CPF credit.

For job seekers, the request is made directly via the Pôle Emploi system in a paperless manner and the training organization initiates the request.

2: Training funding for employees of companies with more than 50 employees

Finance your training with the Skills Development Plan (Ex training plan)

Each company must provide training for its
employees in order to adapt them to their work station and maintain their
employability
.

Companies must propose a skills development plan for this (ex training plan). In order to benefit from this, get in touch with the person in charge of training in your company, be sure to think beforehand about the training you want and the objectives of the latter in your professional career.

Note that the training can be done during your time
job.

Fund long-term training with the Professional Transition Project (Ex
Individual training leave / CIF)

The professional transition project, call
also Transition CPF, is a leave allowing employees to be absent
from his post to undergo training in order to develop his skills. In contrary
in terms of skills development, training may not have
related to the current position you hold.

This device is used for long training
usually.

The condition: have at least two years of activity or
three years for companies with less than 11 employees with at least 1 year in
the same business.

To obtain it, you must make a request to your
employer 60 days before training for training of less than 6 months and
120 days if it lasts longer. Your employer has 30 days for you
reply.

During your training, you continue to receive all or part of your salary (100% if your gross salary is less than € 2996, 80% if the salary exceeds this ceiling). The employer is reimbursed by OPACIF, the cost is therefore not borne by the company during the training period.

3: Training funding for employees of companies with less than 50 employees

OPCOs (skills operators ex OPCA)

Since 2019, due to the training reform initiated
a few years ago, the OPCAs gave way to the OPCOs, the goal
OPCOs: support SMEs in training and finance contracts
learning.

In practice, if the company in which you
work with less than 50 employees, you will be able to benefit from a
financing via an OPCO. There are 11, one per business line. Must therefore
turn to the OPCO related to your company’s activity.

If you don’t know your OPCO, ask for this info
to your company’s human resources.

your account with them and make your request for support. According to your
company, the person in charge of training can also do the file,
ask.

Finance your training with the skills development plan (Ex
Training plan)

Employees of companies with fewer than 50 employees can
also have recourse to the skills development plan but the
companies with less than 50 employees can finance this plan in whole or in part
by OPCOs.

4: Training funding for the self-employed and managers

Freelancers are often the least informed about their
training rights. As a self-employed person, you contribute each year, it
is therefore important to know your rights well in order to train and develop
your activity thanks to new skills.

Training funding through your OPCO

Depending on your activity, you are attached to an OPCO,
for the self-employed it is often the AGEFICE (industry, trade manager,
service) or the FIF PL (for the liberal professions) or the FAFCEA
(for craftsmen).

Each year you are entitled to a training budget, beware this budget cannot be cumulated like the cpf, so it is important to use it each year. To find your OPCO, you can look on your URSSAF certificates. You can also find it with your company’s NAF code and this type of tool.

Then you must create an account on the OPCO to set up your
financial support, everything is generally done online. A
