Here are the step-by-step instructions to keep your email running in a few minutes, easily, simply and quickly.

For accounts with incoming POP3 server

Opens Outlook Express on your personal or work PC.

On the menu “Tools” click on “Accounts”.You will see a new window on the screen. Click on “Add”.

Now you will be asked for the name of the owner of the email account (for example, Juan López). After indicating it, press “Next”.

Then you are asked for the email address. There, indicate the account you wish to set up (for example, [email protected]). After indicating it, press “Next”.

On the new screen, make sure you choose “POP3” how “Incoming mail server”. In both boxes you must indicate your incoming and outgoing email with the form mail.tu-domain. In our example, it would be mail.mysite.com. Then, press “Next.”

Now the Outlook wizard will ask you for two data: Account name Y password. Then indicate in the first case the email account you are configuring (for example, [email protected]). In the second box type the password you created for your email account. Then, press “Next.”

To close the Windows wizard click on “Finalize”.

Now, let’s finish configuring outgoing mail. In the frame “Internet accounts”, make sure your account is selected and click on “Properties”.

On the flap “Servers”, check the option “My server requires authentication” and click on “Setting”.

Then, for the correct configuration of outgoing emails in the “Advanced” tab, verify that you have selected the port 25. Finish the configuration by clicking on “To accept”.

Important:

If the SMTP connection with the port 25 that mail clients place by default, try changing it by port 587. This is because there are internet providers (ISPs) that block the standardized SMTP connection port (25).

Finally, make sure that the option has been selected “Use the same configuration as the incoming mail server”.

Finally, click on “To accept” and close the box “Internet accounts”. You can start sending and receiving mail from Outlook Express!

For accounts with an incoming IMAP server
