The best way to come up with better ideas is to ask yourself better questions. I know it may seem a little odd to you, because it looks like a Buddhist proverb, but from a very concrete point of view where today you are doing entrepreneurship or marketing on the web, it is an important concept …

In the unpredictable world we live in today, the best way to be able to adapt and make the right decisions continuously in a dynamic way is to have a toolbox of questions that you ask. This is why in this video, I offer a question adapted from the book Zero to One Peter Thiel (a large American investor who notably co-founded PayPal, and was the first outside investor of Facebook).

What important truth do most people disagree with?

For example in Thiel’s case, PayPal was founded in 1998, at a time when most people were suspicious of internet transactions… its unpopular truth was “In the future, everyone will shop online”.

Peter Thiel uses this question above all to identify revolutionary ideas that can change the world … but it works just as well on a more modest scale.
